HIGHER NATIONAL DEGREE IN STAINED GLASS ARTS / Ciclo Formativo de Grado Superior de Vidriera Artística
This HND in stained Glass Arts develops stained glass techniques, a speciality of the art of light related to the architectural framework, interior design and decoration. The technician will be able to plan, design and acquire the skills to build stained glass with both old and modern techniques, using flat glass as a basic and fundamental medium. Using new technology, leaded stained glass techniques, Tyffany, Fire painting, engraving and flat glass manufactures, fusing, concrete, etc will be developed. The technician could direct his/her professional activity towards artistic creation, design, craftwork as well as the conservation and restoration of cultural heritage.
ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS FOR ACCESS
In order for students to enroll in HND in stained Glass Arts they must have Bachillerato studies or have achieved equivalent studies as well as passing a specific admission test.
EXEMPTION FROM THE SPECIFIC ENTRANCE EXAM
You are exempt from taking the test if either you have passed Bachillerato in Arts or Experimental Bachillerato in Arts or a Foundation Course Glass Art or any Foundation Course within the same professional group.
Furthermore, you are exempt if either you have one of the following degrees: Bachelor of Arts, Architecture Degree, Industrial Design Degree, Degree in the field of Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage.
ADMISSION WITHOUT ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS
In order to enroll in HND, candidates over 19 who are not in possession of the former academic requirements, must pass both a specific and a general test.
BASIC REFERENCE NORM
Royal Decree 1739/1998 31st July, which established the Higher National Degrees belonging to the stained Glass professional group and minimum standards are approved.
Decree 58/2006 31st August, which established the curriculum for the Higher National Degree in Arts and Design belonging to the stained Glass professional Group and regulates the specific admission test in Castilla y León.
