HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA IN TEXTILE / Ciclo Formativo de Grado Superior de Arte Textil
This higher national diploma in textile promotes the formation of professionals with creative drive and qualifies them to work with textiles. It covers all the techniques related to manipulation of fibers , threads and fabrics, combining traditional and modern techniques. It is aimed at covering the needs of contemporary textile art and is adaptable to the wide and varying artistic and industrial demands which make up the textile sector.
The qualification provides the skills to work with textiles in the following sectors; the production of textile craftworks, interior design and furniture, theatre set design and production and in the fashion industry.
ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS FOR ACCESS
In order to matriculate in the HND students must have completed Bachillerato or have achieved equivalent studies having passed a specific entrance exam.
EXEMPTION FROM THE SPECIFIC ENTRANCE EXAM
You are exempt from taking the test if either you have passed Bachillerato in Arts or Experimental Art Bachillerato or a Foundation Course Applied Arts on Textile Arts or any Foundation Course within the same professional group.
Furthermore you are exempt if either you have one of the following degrees: Bachillerato in Arts, Architecture Degree, Industrial Design Degree, Degree in the field of Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage.
ADMISSION WITHOUT ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS
In order to enroll in HND, candidates over 19 who are not in possession of the former academic requirements, must pass both a specific and a general test.
BASIC REFERENCE NORM
Royal Decree 1622/1997 24th October which established the Higher National Degrees belonging to the Textile Arts Design and minimum standards are approved.
Royal Decree 2284/1998, 23rd October, which established the curriculum for the Higher National Degree in Arts and Design belonging to the Textile Arts Design belonging to the professional Textile Arts.
