HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA IN ENGRAVING AND PRINT TECHNIQUES / Ciclo Formativo de Grado Superior de Grabado y Técnicas de Estampación

 

The Higher National Diploma in Engraving and Print Techniques to master a series of techniques: Woodcutting, Etching, Lithography and Silkscreen Printing used as a means of artistic expression in the production of original graphic work.

An original graphic piece of graphic work is understood as that which once imagined and designed by the artist requires a subsequent process of printing in order for it to be completed.

The use of these techniques and processing has only got an artistic purpose, however their level of difficulty and complexity requests a specific learning.

The efficacy of this course is found in the tight relationship between the artistic and technical elements.

 

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS FOR ACCESS

In order for students to enroll in Higher National Diploma in Engraving and Print Techniques, You will need either to be in possession of Bachillerato in Arts, have passed the equivalent studies as well as passing a specific test .

 

EXEMPTION FROM THE SPECIFIC ENTRANCE EXAM

You are exempt from taking the test if either you have passed  Experimental Bachillerato, Bachillerato  in Arts or a Degree in Applied Arts belonging to the Art of the Book                     or any Technical Higher Degree within the same professional group.

Furthermore you are exempt if either you have one of the following degrees: Bachelor of Arts, Architecture Degree, Industrial Design Degree, Degree in the field of Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage.

 

ACCESS WIHOUT ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS

In order to enroll in HND , candidates who are over 19 years old but are not in possession of the academic requirements already mentioned must pass a specific test as well as another general one.

 

BASIC REFERENCE NORM

Royal Decree 1386/1995, 4th August, which establishes the Degree in Plastic Arts and Design in Engraving and Print techniques, Artistic Bookbinding, Art Edition belonging to the                                  professional group of Book Applied Arts and minimum standards are approved.

 

 

Royal Decree 657/1996, 19th April, which establishes the curriculum and regulates the admission test to Higher National Degree in Arts and Design belonging to the professional group of Book Applied Arts.
